I'm currently majoring in Communication Design at Bahcesehir University. I have worked as a Creative Intern and as an Illustrator Intern at various companies . My coursework revolves around Academic Writing-specifically learning APA style 7th Edition and Animation, Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, Illustration etc. I was born and raised in Pakistan and I am studying in Turkey at the moment.sphere. It was at this pivotal juncture in my life that I realized the difference my art work could potentially make and avowed to study art and design, which would instill in me the awareness required to weed out patriarchy from thevery grassroots of Pakistan. A picture is worth a thousand words and looking at a moving picture can be considerably more impactful than listening to lectures about social issues such as gender inequality. Many believe that countries such as Pakistan are plagued by terrorism, political corruption, and inflation – but I believe the real cure lies within curbing patriarchy. As a victim of the sexist practices in society, I depicted scenes of domestic violence and acid attacks against women by their male counterparts. I organized three exhibitions over the course of a year and sold over 35 paintings as part of my awareness campaign called “Auratnaak”. The primary goal of my campaign was to accomplish three distinct objectives to ameliorate the plight of poor Pakistani women: the provision of bodily rights, freedom to express opinions without being oppressed and accomplishment of sufficient independence to guarantee survival through at least minor employment. I touched upon such notions in my designs and donated the funds to ‘Shirkat-Gah’, a women empowerment organization that worked for purposes that aligned with mine. By pursuing a degree from The Design School at Taylor’s University, I wish to learn skills and design techniques that will allow me to improve my work and take my feminist initiatives through design even further than before.
